Support Services - Birth Parents/Families
It is important to remember that birth parents and birth family
continue to be a part of the adoption triad whether they
continue to be an actually presence
in a child’s life or not. C.A.S.E. provides support for the birth
parent(s) in grieving the loss of their child upon relinquishment as well
as other times
in the future when memories of that child surfaces (i.e. having other children,
telling a spouse/partner, dealing with self-esteem, and dealing with the
larger issues of social and political opinion surrounding adoption.) C.A.S.E.
also provides
assistance to birth parents and adoptive parents in defining comfortable
parameters for open adoption, acting as a mediator in negotiating a sensitive
arrangement
that is in the best interest of everyone, most important the birth/adopted
child.
