Your  teenage years can be like a bumpy ride.  The cool thing about being a teenager is realizing that how you feel and how you act are two different things.  You can't change the way you feel right away.  But when deciding what to do, you always have choices.

SAD

My friends and friends don't really care about me.

REALITY CHECK

When you feel lonely or unwanted, ask your family and friends if they care about you.  Let them know it's important to you.

WORK ON IT

Pick out specific things they do and tell them how those things make you feel.

GO FIRST

Do something special for one of them to show them that you care.

I wish I knew someone who looked like me.

REACH OUT

Talk with either adopted kids who feel the  same way.

CONNECT

Identify ways you and your family are alike.  For example: We have a weird sense of humor.  We like spicy food. We enjoy swimming.
